Bybit account setup guide
A step by step walkthrough of the current Bybit registration flow, from sign up through identity verification to securing the account. Written for students of the Crypto Fundamentals programme, and useful to anyone opening an account for the first time.

Before you start
- Use your own email address or mobile number.
- Keep your phone available for verification.
- Have a valid government-issued identity document ready for KYC.
- Use your own true country of residence and your own identity details.
- Never share your password, verification code, authenticator code, seed phrase or private key.
Recommended starting balance after verification
US$110 or more, if you are comfortable proceeding.
A starting balance of around US$110 gives a practical amount to work with during the Pay Your Bills trading sessions, so you can follow the framework with real position sizing rather than only watching examples. Funding the account may also make you eligible for platform perks or campaign rewards that apply to your account at the time.
Part 1
Sign up
Open the registration link
Use the registration button above. The direct link already carries the referral information.
Enter your email or mobile number
Use your own contact details. Confirm that SALMAN appears in the referral-code field. Read and accept the applicable terms, then press the signup button.
Complete the security puzzle
When the slide puzzle appears, drag the slider until the missing piece lines up. Bybit will then continue the registration.
Before continuing, confirm your own email or mobile is entered, SALMAN is shown in the referral field, and you are on the official bybit.com website.
Part 2
Verify your email and create a password
Enter the 6-digit verification code
Bybit sends a code to the email address or mobile number you entered. Enter it before it expires. If it does not arrive, check spam or junk and use Resend.
Create your login password
Create a unique password. The recorded flow required 8 to 30 characters, with at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and one number.
Do not reuse a password from your email, banking, social media or another exchange.
Part 3
Complete identity verification
Start identity verification
After the account is created, Bybit prompts you to verify your identity before full platform access. Select Get Verified Now or the equivalent button.
Use your own country details
When Bybit asks for your country of residence, select the country where you genuinely live. When it asks for country or region of issue, select the country that issued the document you are using.
Do not select a different country to obtain different platform features. Incorrect country information can cause verification or account-access problems.
Part 4
Choose your ID and finish verification
Choose the identity document you will use
The flow may offer an ID card, passport, driver licence or residence permit. Choose the document that is valid for you and follow the instructions shown.
Upload or photograph the document
Make sure all edges are visible, the image is sharp and the information is readable. Do not edit or digitally alter the document.
Complete facial verification
Follow Bybit's camera instructions. You may be asked to continue on your phone or complete a live face check. Finish until Bybit confirms submission.
If verification fails: check the document is current and supported, use good lighting and avoid glare, make sure names and dates match your account details. If repeated attempts fail, use Bybit's official support process.
Part 5
Secure and prepare the account
Enable two-factor authentication
In Bybit's account security settings, enable Google Authenticator or another available 2FA method. This adds an important layer of protection.
Confirm the account is verified
Before trading, check that identity verification shows as complete and the account has access to the functions you need.
Fund the account when you are ready
A working balance of around US$110 gives a workable starting point for position sizing during the practical sessions. A qualifying deposit may also unlock account-specific Bybit perks, depending on the terms shown to you.
